![]() I own pretty much every software amp sim available, I can't say Ampire will be my go to or replace my current favs or anything, but it holds its own IMO. I find it sounds very good and is very usable, blows the original away by a long shot. Due to my personal opinion of the original I wasn't holding out much hope for the new one, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I was never a fan of the original Ampire and as such never used it, I have plenty of much better options available. Jih64 wrote Anyone else finding the new Ampire REALLY noisy? But other indicators are suggesting some of the noise is coming from unhappy drivers and setups, so maybe my experience isn't accurate yet. ![]() Likewise, I hear ya - aside from the white noise I'm concerned with, the volumes do seem low. Until they do that, I'm sticking with Ampire XT. I think Presonus needs to go back and beef-up the sounds. Overall I find all the amps in the new Ampire are disappointingly low in volume - and even cranking up the input and output gains all the way up doesn't help. Luckily I have a subscription to the old Ampire XT Metal Pack and as of now, nothing can beat the high-gain amp that comes with that - for playing Metallica songs for example. They sound weak (volume is too low), and as you say, there seems to be too much noise overshadowing the tone. Martin14 wroteLikewise, I cannot get any satisfying high-gain metal sounds from the new Ampire.
